Little and/or much?

Paul managed to get to a point whether he could be content with little or much. Which tells me:

  • he experienced both
  • that wealth was no guarantee of contentment
  • that poverty wasn’t the prize either
  • it took experience, wisdom and transformation (healing) to get to that place

The crux here is that wealth, want and spiritual health are like the intersecting circles of a Venn diagram — there are different areas of overlap, irrelevance and contradiction. The sweet spot is to be content with either little or much.

But that means dealing with the mental, emotional, spiritual, cultural and even physical hang-ups we have about money. Starting with why Christians prefer to talk about “finances” as a way of avoiding having to talk about “money”.

“I am rich in _____!”
