Face it. If you can read this, it’s likely that you have so many options that the real measure of your relationship with God is not whether you’ll have the bread to get through this day, but how much of your time and energy lines up with his generous vision for your life.
Which is a long-winded way of saying, “Howzit goin’?”
The starting point for much of the material here will be matters affected by the way we view, expect, create, receive, manage, gain, lose, guard, spend, avoid, seek, use, abuse, misuse, enjoy, regret, leverage, resent, celebrate and give … money. And money’s other forms, like possessions, expenses, incomes, giving and so on.
And because money affects many (not all) aspects of how we live, we’ll also entertain lots of tangents pertaining to how we live as saints-in-the-making.
This blog is for people who are looking not so much for conclusions, but provocation. Stimulating conversation. Encouraging interaction. Stirring in the right direction. An adjustable trajectory of one’s own to be shared in close consultation with God and other Jesus-minded people.
And I’m hoping to learn from you, because I already know what I think … and it isn’t satisfactory yet.
If you’re looking for a bit of bio information about me, here’s a blurb I’ve used: In addition to being the author of “Healing Your Financial Soul”, and the weekend seminars based on the book, David Hicks is a communications consultant living near Stratford, Canada, and an ordained minister. He and his wife, Charmaine, helped create and then directed the School of Ministry program at Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship for five years, where they were also members of the pastoral team. They spent the next five years ministering and training in the areas of contemporary worship and pastoral counseling. They have since returned to consulting – David as a branding expert and Charmaine as a Life Coach. (And she’s very good.)
